It is the
poor who habitually elect Democrats---yet they are still
POOR

"You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence. You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.". . . .. Abraham Lincoln

Happy Memorial Day

This weekend we remember the men and women who sacrificed their lives to give us the right as Americans to enjoy freedom and liberty.  It is by the blood of these men and women that America has not only become the greatest nation in the world but a nation that others want to become a part of.  During the this Holiday weekend of BBQ's, time off, and time with the family...please don't forget the the real reason that we celebrate this holiday and take just a moment to remember the ultimate price that was paid.

Frank wants Djou's birth certificate

http://visiontoamerica.org/story/barney-frank-wants-to-see-rep-djous-birth-certificate.html
ongue firmly in cheek, Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) on Tuesday afternoon called on reporters to demand to see the birth certificate of new Rep. Charles Djou (R-Hawaii).

As Djou (pictured here) was being sworn into office, Frank walked the hallway of the Speaker's Lobby off the House floor calling on the media to "do your job" and review Djou's papers.
It was a small bit of payback for the enormous amount of attention some conservatives (and the media) paid to the is-the-president-really-from-America controversy.

But, unlike the commander-in-chief, as Frank knows, being born outside the U.S. does not preclude you from becoming a member of Congress.

Car Crash Involving Mass. Lawmaker, Suspected Illegal Immigrant Heats Up Debate

Thought this was interesting.. it's just a matter of time  now till the rest of the country will go the way of AZ. Pathetic it took a lawmaker being a victim of one of them for them to wake up and realize it's a real problem.

Blog Layout Update

Ok Conservative Chatterbox followers.  I just wanted to point out a couple of modifications I have made to the blog, most of which are on the right side of the blog page.  First if you notice about halfway down there are two sections.  One is called the "Senate Floor Today" and the other is called "House Floor Today".  These are RSS feeds from the Library of Congress and provide the top 5 bills that are currently on the floor that day for each.  Thought it might be informational so we will give it a try.  Also directly below these you will see a "Favorite Links" where I will post helpful or useful links.  If you have any recommendations please let me know.

All the way at the bottom of the page is a "News Scroller" which I have specifically programmed to scroll through articles regarding "Obama, GOP, and DNC".  Again, if you'd like any other search factors entered please let me know.

I'm always open to what can make this blog better so if you have any recommendations, please let me know, even if your a liberal.  Also, I can only track whose following the blog if you are a google user and you click the "Follow" button under the follower section, so if you are following the blog via RSS feed or some other means could you please drop me an email at joshua.hollinger@gmail.com just to let me know?  Also, if you would like to receive automatic emails when a post is made send me your email address and I will put you on the auto email list.  Thanks everyone.

Representative McClintock's Response to the Mexican President

Link to video:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ldx8gZDwZWs

McClintockCA04  May 20, 2010 — Response to President Calderon
House Chamber, Washington, D.C.
May 20, 2010

M. Speaker:

I rise to take strong exception to the speech of the President of Mexico while in this chamber today.

The Mexican government has made it very clear for many years that it holds American sovereignty in contempt and President Calderons behavior as a guest of the Congress confirms and underscores this attitude.

It is highly inappropriate for the President of Mexico to lecture Americans on American immigration policy, just as it would be for Americans to lecture Mexico on its laws.

It is obvious that President Calderon does not understand the nature of America or the purpose of our immigration law.

Unlike Mexicos immigration law -- which is brutally exclusionary -- the purpose of Americas law is not to keep people out. It is to assure that as people come to the United States, they do so with the intention of becoming Americans and of raising their children as Americans.

Unlike Mexico, our nation embraces immigration and what makes that possible is assimilation.

A century ago President Teddy Roosevelt put it this way. He said:

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language ... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

That is how we have built one great nation from the people of all the nations of the world.

The largest group of immigrants now comes from Mexico. A recent RAND discovered that during most of the 20th Century, while our immigration laws were actually enforced, assimilation worked and made possible the swift attainment of the American dream for millions of immigrants seeking to escape conditions in Mexico.

That is the broader meaning of our nations motto, e pluribus unum from many people, one people, the American people.

But there is now an element in our political structure that seeks to undermine that concept of E Pluribus Unum. It seeks to hyphenate Americans, to develop linguistic divisions, to assign rights and preferences based on race and ethnicity, and to elevate devotion to foreign ideologies and traditions, while at the same time denigrating American culture, American values and American founding principles.

In order to do so, they know that they have to stop the process of assimilation. In order to do that, they must undermine our immigration laws.

It is an outrage that a foreign head of state would appear in this chamber and actively seek to do so. And it is a disgrace that he would be cheered on from the left wing of the White House and by many Democrats in this Congress.

Arizona has not adopted a new immigration law. All it has done is to enforce existing law that President Obama refuses to enforce. It is hardly a radical policy to suggest that if an officer on a routine traffic stop encounters a driver with no drivers license, no passport, and who doesnt speak English, that maybe that individual might be here illegally.

And to those who say we must reform our immigration laws I reply that we dont need to reform them we need to enforce them. Just as every other government does. Just as Mexico does.

Above all, this is a debate of, by and for the American people. If President Calderon wishes to participate in that debate, I invite him to obey our immigration laws, apply for citizenship, do what 600,000 LEGAL immigrants to our nation are doing right now, learn our history and our customs, and become an American. And then he will have every right to participate in that debate.

Until then, I would politely invite him to have the courtesy while a guest of this Congress to abide by the fundamental rules of diplomacy between civilized nations not to meddle in each others domestic debates.

"Black Market" Health Care

Now this is just an idea that popped in my mind...and this is conversation that may have come up somewhere before, so if it is, I apologize.  But with the GLORIOUS evolution of Socialized Health Care...everyone who can't afford healthcare...or is here illegally getting healthcare at the expense of those who can afford it, causing the wait to see your family doctor for the common cold to increase from 2 weeks to a year (If you require any type of medical procedure under Obamacare to save your life in a 6 month time frame I would just recommend contacting Dr. Kevorkian), what is to stop "Black Market" Healthcare Clinics from popping up?  Clinics that don't want to follow the Socialized Healthcare plan due to being short staffed and under payed not to mention being run by the government.  Would they provide better service, possibly.  Would they be illegal, of course.  Would they cost more, probably, but first they'd be illegal and second, when it comes to the quality of your health, i think most people would pay more.  Your thoughts?

ARIZONA ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION LAW

AN OUSTANDING MOVE IN ARIZONA!  Its about time somone has stepped up to the plate and started doing something regarding illegal immigrants, especially since for some reason, the Federal Government doesn't want to do their part in controling illegal immigrants, and this is actually an area they SHOULD be controlling, instead of worrying about how to screw up the health care system or taking over car companies.  I understand that some people view this as a Civil Rights violoation but in all reality, this is just a reinforcement of laws that already on the books, and the only people is should bother is ILLEGALS.  It has always been a law that you have to provide documentation proving that you are a U.S. Citizen, or have permission to be here, whether that be a drivers license, state id, passport, or green card, it doesn't matter.  I say BRAVO ARIZONA and I hope there are many states to follow your lead!  Then maybe Washington will stop worrying about shit they should be worried about and start doing their job!

FOXNews.com - Obama Swipes at Media, Says 'Information' Onslaught Pressuring 'Democracy'

Funny...I'm pretty sure that technology, blogs, etc, were exactly what got him elected in the first place...but NOW that it is being used to show what his agenda REALLY is he says, "...information becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment, rather than the means of emancipation.  So all...of this is not only putting pressure on you; it's putting new pressure on our country and on our democracy."  NOW we are starting to worry about the country and our democracy?!?!?!  Pretty sure that's already on the way out the door!
